Labels, Incorporated was founded in 1975 in Amesbury, MA. Our first home was a rented portion of space in an old hat shop on the Merrimac River which was our residence for six years. We were forced to vacate because of a change of ownership of the property and after exhausting a search for rental space, it was decided to purchase the old Ideal Laundry building at 91 High Street. It took six months of renovations to make the building habitable and suitable for a printing company. The thought was that this building would last a lifetime since we moved from 3500 square feet to 10,000 square feet. Well, a lifetime lasted about six years and a 3500 square foot addition was needed. Now we knew that we were all set and would never have to expand again. However the company continued to grow and exceed expectations, guess what? Another addition was required. A second story was added and the property now totaled 20,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space and although we knew that we would never ever have to expand again, it would not be possible to do so at this location.
Good grief, more space needed. Now 8500 square feet was leased in another old hat shop on Cedar Street to house the screen process department. Things were status quo until FlexPrint was founded in 1995 and a 10,000 square foot building was leased in Seabrook, NH.
Business was prospering even though we were in three locations and running as efficiently as possible. This property at 10 Merrill Industrial Drive became available and after much deliberation about leaving Amesbury, our home for 25 years, it was decided that the move made sense, especially when the three entities would become consolidated under one roof. Now Labels, Incorporated occupies 40,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space in Hampton, NH.
